The YSP chapter in Toronto embarked on their first cleanup project since the start of the pandemic on Saturday, November 27. Sixteen youth took the ferry to the Toronto Islands to fill 9 bags of trash before participating in a scavenger hunt at the park on Centre Island as a reward for their hard work. The group braved the early cold of the winter but still enjoyed the quiet and peace of the natural environment. Our group was recognized by a village resident who invited the youth to return for a guided tour. Three teams competed in the scavenger hunt which was done on the GooseChase platform. Future cleanups are scheduled to take place after the winter in 2022 when the snow melts.
